As master developer and broker for Pinnacle Prairie, we are excited to announce that Fareway grocery will be joining the Pinnacle Prairie master planned community. Subject to city approval, the 21,000-square-foot store will be the newest addition to Pinnacle Prairie at the southeast corner of Greenhill Road and South Main Street, adjacent to a proposed Kwik Star convenience store and near the proposed site of a Cedar Falls public safety building.
“We’re excited Fareway has interest and that we got them on board,” said Dustin Whitehead, CCIM of Lockard, master developer and broker for Pinnacle Prairie. “We’ve been talking to them over the last 10 years on whether or not they’d be interested in another grocery store in that part of Cedar Falls.”
Headquartered in Boone, IA, Fareway Stores, Inc. is a growing Midwest grocery company currently operating 118 grocery store locations in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Fareway holds family values in the highest regard, demonstrating integrity, fairness, and honesty in relationships with customers, employees, vendors, and suppliers.
Whitehead said a Pinnacle Prairie design review committee has recommended city approval of the Fareway, Kwik Star and public safety building projects. Developer approval is required under Pinnacle Prairie’s mixed-use zoning designation. Pinnacle Prairie is a 780-acre residential-commercial development conceived more than a decade ago on land owned by Merrill Oster and developed by Lockard.
