The Shoppes at Renaissance Square in southeast Fort Worth will celebrate its grand opening Nov. 6.

The $75 million shopping center will feature more than 400,000 square-feet of retail, grocery stores, restaurants and other neighborhood services. It is roughly five miles southeast of downtown Fort Worth.

The shopping center broke ground in April 2010, and since has opened retailers including Walmart, its anchor store,MarshallsGameStop, Subway, T-Mobile,7-Eleven, McDonalds, Jack in the Box,Shoe CarnivalRoss and Grand LV Nails.

Lockard Development and Moriah Real Estate Co., which have been working on the development, are working with other retailers and expect to announce new tenants that will open by the end of the year.

The center is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs in Fort Worth. It is more than double the size of University Park Village located on the city’s west side.

The center was created as part of the city’s revitalization efforts. The city approved $12 million in tax breaks for the project in 2009.

The Shoppes is the first part of development, as 80 acres of land have been zoned for single-family homes, apartments and senior living. The residential part of the property will be called The Villages. The developers also plan to use 20 acres of land for offices.
