A national fashion retailer, Ross Dress for Less, who provides high quality department and specialty store brands at extraordinary savings, will be opening in The Bluffs in Pinnacle Prairie.
Ross Dress for Less will occupy the final available space, 22,000 square feet, in a power center that includes other national retailers Hobby Lobby, Famous Footwear, Dollar Tree, Home Goods, and Pet Supplies Plus.
Property owners, The Bluff Pack LLC., officially broke ground on the retail power center on in April 2016. “It is amazing how quickly the site has come together,” said Jeff Stickfort of The Bluff Pack, LLC. “The interest for the space was immediate.”
Corning Optical Communications, a division of New York-based Corning Inc., are moving their headquarters from Hickory, NC to northwest Charlotte, NC, just off the I-485 loop. The $38 million headquarters will be located in Riverbend Village, just a few miles north of Lockard’s master-planned community, Rhyne Station.
Rhyne Station, a 131 acre site, has planned a blend of office, retail, and residential living where architecture, landscaping and natural features will complement the surrounding natural resources.
More than 400 jobs would move from Hickory to the new headquarters scheduled to open in 2018. The Charlotte headquarters could boast an additional 150 jobs by 2023 with an average salary of $91,000 according to the Mecklenburg County Commission.
“This is an amazing opportunity for the local economy,” said Robert Smith Jr., CCIM, President Lockard. “The jobs being created along the northwest loop of I-485 will help spur development and enhance the quality of life in the local community.”
The company says construction of the new headquarters could begin as early as the second half of 2016.

Toys R Us, Kay Jewelers outlet and Brooks Brothers factory store have been announced as the newest tenants of The Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay in Robstown, TX.
These stores will join the three previously announced retailers; Express, Guess and Skechers. The remaining stores, about 75 in total, as well as a lineup of food trucks that will serve as the food court will be announced in the months leading up to the November 2016 grand opening.

In documents filed with the City of Cedar Falls, Lockard and The Bluff Pack, LLC have agreed on plans to begin construction of a 120,000 square foot $14 million retail power center on an 11-acre site, The Bluffs at Pinnacle Prairie.
